People Gives Fans a First Look at Nicolas Cage & Nicholas Hoult in 'Renfield'
As filming gets underway in New Orleans on Universal's latest entry into the Dark Universe it hopes to create, People gets the first look at actors Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult, in costume for their upcoming film, Renfield.
Stepping out in a blood red, peak lapel velvet tuxedo jacket and pants, it looks as if Nicolas Cage is bringing some style to the Count's wardrobe. In an interview not too long ago, Nicolas Cage said he wanted to bring about a version of Dracula, inspired by the film Malignant, and the actor's late father August Coppola . Above the neck, Cage looks very Bela Lugosi and it will be quite a joy to watch his take on the infamous bloodsucker.
Nicholas Hoult was snapped in People's first look wearing jeans and a pink long-sleeved shirt, complete with what appear to be four bloody knife wounds to the chest. His face was not spared sporting some bloody cuts, maybe from Dracula's long fingernails?
Directed by Chris McKay, and written by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ridley, Renfield will tale a new story in the Dracula universe, this time centered around R.M. Renfield, the Count's loyal servant, who wants to break free from his chains and choose life with a new love interest. Starring Nicolas Cage, Nicholas Hoult, Awkwafina and Ben Schwartz, Renfield eyes a theatrical release next year on April 14.
