The upcoming horror series Archive 81 adds Martin Donovan, Matt McGorry, Julia Chan, Evan Jonigkeit and Ariana Neal to its cast. They will join Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi in the new series that will premiere on Netflix.
Adapted from the podcast by the same name, Archive 81 will tell the story of archivist Dan Turner who is tasked with the restoration of old videotapes. On the tapes, the filmmaking exploits of Melody and her crew are uncovered as they investigate a cult.
Rebecca Thomas will direct the first half of the upcoming series, while James Wan’s Atomic Monster signs on to produce, alongside Thomas and creators of Archive 81, Marc Sollinger and Daniel Powell, who created the podcast in 2018. No date yet as to when filming starts or when the show will premiere.
