'Watcher' Director Chloe Okuno To Direct Next ‘Fear Street’ Movie From Netflix

Another Fear Street movie is in the works from Netflix, and writer/director Chloe Okuno is set to help bring about more scares by directing a fourth film that will take inspiration from R.L. Stine's young adult book series by the same name.

Chloe Okuno is best known for her psychological thriller Watcher, which released on Shudder in June of this year. Having helped to direct an episode of SHOWTIME's Let the Right One In, Okuno is well on her way to making it big in the genre of horror, headed in the right direction now with her involvement on Fear Street.

Leigh Janiak was the writer and director for the Fear Street trilogy that first premiered in July of last year, starring a bevy of young actors including Stranger Things' Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke. Due to the success of the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix, it comes as no surprise that more films would get the green light, but what is even more surprising is the absence of Leigh Janiak.

One has to wonder if maybe another trilogy is in the works, or if this new Fear Street film will really be a one off film? Given the size of the book series the film will take inspiration from, it wouldn't be hard to craft another story that spans three movies to tell. Time will tell on this one and it's very exciting to know more Fear Street is on the way, especially now with the talented Chloe Okuno directing.
