If you grew up as a kid in the mid-1990s, you might remember this video case looking at you from the horror section. I know I remember it, and now the kid in me can be scared all over again with the Blue Underground 4K UHD release of Uncle Sam, later this year.
The 1996 horror/comedy told the story of Sgt. Sam Harper, killed by friendly gunfire in the Gulf War. When Sgt. Harper's body is returned home during the Independence Day holiday, the dead sergeant comes back to life to kill all the unpatriotic citizens of Twin Rivers--all while wearing an Uncle Sam costume.
Directed by William Lustig and written by Larry Cohen, the 4K UHD release of Uncle Sam will include two commentary tracks, as well as deleted scenes, gag reels and theatrical trailers for the film. Starring David 'Shark' Fralick, Jody Baker, Leslie Neale, Isaac Hayes, P.J. Soles and Robert Forster, Uncle Sam is currently available for pre-order with a released date on June 21.
