Watch Sunday's NFC Championship Game For 'The Boogeyman' Official Trailer

Whether you're a Niners fan, an Eagles fan, or just watching because Stephen King told you to, Sunday's NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles is sure to be a treat for more than just NFL fans.

Taking to Twitter where he talks candidly with his audience, Stephen King was thrilled to announce his excitement for the big game Sunday, mostly because his fans would finally get to see the official trailer for The Boogeyman, the latest adaptation of the bestselling author's work from director Rob Savage.

Produced by 20th Century Studios, 21 Laps Entertainment and NeoReel, The Boogeyman will star Sophie Thatcher, Marin Ireland, Chris Messina, and Vivien Lyra Blair. Written by Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, and Mark Heyman, The Boogeyman will tell the story of two sisters still grieving the tragic death of their mother. When they become the interest of an evil entity, however, the sisters realize they cannot fight on their own, and struggle to get their psychiatrist father to believe them.

Rob Savage, the award winning director of 2020's Host, will give audiences an updated take on Stephen King's work from 1973, a film that will veer drastically away from the short story source first published in Cavalier, a magazine similar to Playboy. Before we go hating on changes and all, it's best to know that some filmmakers have had great success altering King's work, and if test screenings for The Boogeyman are anything to go off of, this adaptation just might prosper from some of Savage's changes.

The Boogeyman has undergone some changes to its release, but is still slated to release on its original release date of June 2, but the premiere will not be confined to just a streaming release on Hulu. Because of positive reviews received at test screenings, The Boogeyman will instead enjoy a theatrical release later this year on that same date.

But before that awesome theatrical release takes place, tune into the NFC Championship game between the 49ers and Eagles, taking place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, starting at 3:00PM EST on FOX. Not only will enjoy one teams ultimate victory, you'll be one of the first to catch the official trailer for The Boogeyman.
