Horrific Recap of November 14 - 20, 2021

Welcome back to Horror Junket horror fans. Another week full of terror has come and gone, providing us with not only another week of much anticipated scares but also another Horrific Recap! Let's not waste anytime in getting down to it, if you haven't done so already go ahead and grab your fright pillow tight, as we plunge head first into some of the horror that occurred last week.


 

November 14 - Sunday



The Hi-C flavor Ecto Cooler will once again make a return for Ghostbusters, this time for the premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.


The citrus explosion that is Ecto Cooler is once again available for a limited time. Like it has been in the past, it shall be in the present because getting your hands on this Hi-C drink variant will prove difficult. Why? Let's just say you won't find it at your local grocer.


Announced on Hi-C's Twitter, the drink company will choose at random a handful of lucky winners. Winners will be those that tweet their love for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and use the appropriate hashtags. Chosen winners will be rewarded the the glorious flavor of Hi-C Ecto Cooler which is available for the first time in a 12-ounce bottle. Good luck!


 

November 15 - Monday



Paramount Players, currently behind the Pet Sematary prequel, will also take on the remake of the 1988 cult classic Pumpkinhead.


Paramount Players and A Bigger Boat will produce the Pumpkinhead remake based on a script from writer Nate Atkins. Production is set to get started on the film that will tell the tale of a revenge-seeking father who conjures the ghastly demon to do his bidding.





IFC Midnight picked up the Canadian thriller See For Me back in August and word is now here of a January release date for next year.


Directed by Randall Okita and written by Adam Yorke and Tommy Gushue, See For Me will tell the story of two women, one woman on the other end of a phone app, who must fight against home invaders looking for a quick score.


Starring Skyler Davenport, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Kim Coates and Laura Vandervoort, See For Me will be released next year on January 7.





 

November 16 - Tuesday



Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest will come together once again for an HBO Max special event.


Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and so many more will host a trip down memory lane with the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Return to Hogwarts series special, an event that will bring together the cast, crew and stories from the magical movie series that has touched generations of fans.


All kinds of memories and behind the scenes magic will be awaiting fans of the wizarding world when Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Return to Hogwarts premieres very early next year on January 1.


 

November 17 - Wednesday


Alien: Isolation, the PC and console hit that makes most horror games look like PG movies, is coming to mobile gaming to change the color of your underwear where ever you may be.


The 2014 horror survival game put gamers in control of Amanda Ripley, daughter to you-know-who, who must complete objectives within a time limit, all while being pursued by horror's favorite Xenomorph.


Alien: Isolation and the story of Ellen Ripley's daughter will be available to play on iOS and Android later in the year on December 16.





The next film in the Riddick franchise moves forward in its development with an announcement from Vin Diesel.


The Chronicles of Riddick star took to Instagram to express his happiness after a meeting for the film he will surely produce and star in. In the post Vin Diesel writes, “Great meeting today, very excited about this next chapter. #Furyan”.


Fans can rest assured that the next chapter in the Riddick series is in development and it will be exciting to see the journey the film takes as it goes through its production process.


 

November 18 - Thursday



The official trailer for Nightmare Alley is here and though it's not the usual horror we've come to expect from Guillermo del Toro, it is sure to be a dark and fantastical ride that only Guillermo del Toro can provide.


Based off the 1946 novel by William Lindsay Gresham, Nightmare Alley will tell the story of Bradley Cooper's smooth talking carny who pairs up with a female psychiatrist for a tale about the dark side of showbiz. Nightmare Alley will be in theaters later this year on December 16.


 

November 19 - Friday



South Korean zombie flick Train to Busan is getting the American remake treatment and the title has just been announced.


Still in the very early stages of production, the upcoming American remake of Train to Busan will be titled Last Train to New York, and though plot details are unknown, it may have riders of a train trying to survive a zombie outbreak on said train.


More details and news is sure to come and once they arrive, you will read about them a week later here on Horror Junket's Horrific Recap.


 

November 20 - Saturday



The many talents of Mckenna Grace don't just lie with acting in feature films and television shows, no, Mckenna Grace is also a talented singer.


The actress who can next be seen in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, lends her voice and her song titled "Haunted House", to the end of the much anticipated Ghostbusters film. The duel threat will next turn triple threat when she helps to produce a sequel to her Lifetime hit The Bad Seed, a creepy kid thriller based off the 1956 film.


 

Well, that's only some of the horror to report for last week. As we get closer to the Christmas season, I'm sure the horror news will become more and more scarce but if you stay hopeful, I guarantee that there will be some more horror to enjoy.
