BUZZ: Danny Boyle is Working on Third '28 Days Later' Film
Updated: Sep 9, 2021
Director Danny Boyle has told The Independent that a follow up to 28 Days Later is in the works. Speaking with the publication, Boyle says, "Alex Garland and I have a wonderful idea for the third part," he said. "It's properly good."
28 Days Later released in 2002 and starred Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris and Brendan Gleeson. Written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle, the third movie would be a return to the series since the first. In 2007, we saw the sequel 28 Weeks Later hit theaters but Boyle and Garland had no connection to the film other than executive producer credits.
It will still be some time before we see the third film as the concept is just an idea for now, nothing has been written yet, according to Boyle. 28 Days Later fans wait, fingers crossed for next year.
