Set to be a prequel to the murderous story of the Defeo family, Amityville 1974 will be the 24th release in the series of films and TV movies that focus on the demonic house of Amityville, New York.
Written and directed by Casey La Scala, the movie is set to tell a story based on the earlier days of the Defeo family and the demonic evils within their new house. Originally thought to based on a true story, the tale of the family from Amityville was admitted false in 1979 by Defeo family lawyer William Weber, who claims the story was concocted over 'many bottles of wine.' This news however has not stopped Hollywood from making movies off the terrifying tale and the trend continues even today.
Casey La Scala is no stranger to the Amityville films and served as producer for Amityville: The Awakening (2017) starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bella Thorne. Still in early stages of production Amityville 1974 is set to release sometime time next year.
