Updated: Nov 19

More news for Disney's upcoming feature film, Haunted Mansion, inspired by the famous park attraction by the same name, came out at Disney's D23 Expo today, with the big news being that actress Winona Ryder will leave Hawkins behind for a bit, to help bring some scares to the haunted house flick, currently in the works.

Directed by Justin Simien, and written by D.V. DeVincentis, with help from Katie Dippold, and Guillermo del Toro, Haunted Mansion will tell the story of a single mother with kids in tow, who seeks to starts a new life in New Orleans, having just purchased a spooky looking mansion for a price that is too good to be true.

Winona Ryder joins an already stacked cast for the currently in-development feature film, with the talents of Rosario Dawson, Danny DeVito, Jamie Lee Curtis, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, and Tiffany Haddish, all set to star in the film.

Still in production, Haunted Mansion could start filming as early as next month. The film probably won't see post-production until later this year, or earlier next year, with Haunted Mansion eyeing a theatrical release on Friday, March 10, 2023.
