POSTER: Two New Posters For 'Doctor Sleep' Have Arrived

We're less than a month away from the release of the much anticipated Doctor Sleep and those behind the film have graced us with two new posters for our viewing pleasure.

The first poster shows Danny (Ewan McGregor) looking through a hole in the door that once separated his murderous, axe-wielding father from his horrified mother. The poster, in color at least, is a throwback to a series of posters done by Saul Bass for The Shining, back in 1980. The posters were yellow in color with a look that made one recall Georges Seurat and his art in the style of Pointillism. They were simple and haunting all at the same time.

The second poster is a bit more haunting, looking almost like the cover picture on a book jacket. It shows an adult Danny in the halls of the hotel that haunts his past, looking upon himself as a child on a Big Wheel. Red is the color that ultimately stands out. Red, like the torrent of blood that was released from the opening elevator door in the first movie that started it all.

Fans of the film directed by Stanley Kubrick, and fans of the book and miniseries written by Stephen King, will surely have much to talk about with these two, new poster entries. From the looks of it, and I hope it's true, we will hopefully be spending a lot of time in Danny's past as we reacquaint ourselves with the Overlook Hotel.

Doctor Sleep will be directed by Mike Flanagan and star Ewan McGregor as Dan Torrance, a struggling adult who must go up against Rose the Hat, played by Rebecca Ferguson. It will release nationwide Friday, November 8th.
