MOVIES: Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ Scares at the Box Office

The psychological thriller Us, written and directed by Academy Award winner Jordan Peele has had tremendous box office results since opening, taking in over $70 million on its first weekend. Since its March 22nd release, Us has managed to take in over $136 million, claiming the #1 spot in the box office in its first week, the top spot previously held by Disney’s Captain Marvel.

It’s no surprise that the Peele penned, original horror story about a family and their doppelgangers has taken over the box office. Jordan Peele has a knack when it comes to writing the eerie, a knack he has proven with his work Get Out and currently in the newly premiered Twilight Zone series on CBS.
