Horror Podcast Turned Netflix Series 'Archive 81' Debuts Official Trailer

Netflix is set to debut their latest project of horror but before that premiere day comes, how about an official trailer to hold you over?

The eight episode Netflix series, produced by James Wan, began its production in the midst of the COVID pandemic, and its been just a little over a year since Horror Junket first reported on Archive 81's development. Archive 81 originally began as a podcast series created by Dead Signals and is currently awaiting its fourth season. The found footage horror podcast is about a collection of audio cassette tapes that make their way to Mark Sollinger, sent by his recently disappeared friend Daniel Powell. The mysterious tapes detail Daniel's work at the Housing Historical Committee of New York State and are a link to a dark past, and possibly Daniel's disappearance.

Of course some liberties will be taken with the story when it comes to the Netflix/James Wan adaptation of the horror podcast, as to whether or not they are warranted changes, we'll just have to wait and see. Starring Ariana Neal, Dina Shihabi, Evan Jonigkeit, Julia Chan, Matt McGorry and Martin Donovan, Archive 81 will premiere on Netflix soon on January 14.
