Deon Taylor's Latest Film 'Fear' Hits Theaters Today

TGIF, right? That means it's time to kick back and treat yourself to a weekend of movies, including Deon Taylor's latest horror/thriller, Fear, releasing to theaters today.

From the director of Traffik and The Intruder, Fear tells a story of terror about a group of friends, who decide to spend the weekend at the historic Strawberry Lodge in Northern California. Being apart for so long, due to the COVID pandemic, the group finally comes together for a small reunion in the mountains of the Eldorado National Forest. The trip is tainted, however, turning into a nightmare, when an airborne illness breaks out and slowly infects the group, while unraveling the lodge's dark history, as well.

Fear is written by both Deon Taylor and John Ferry, the story being conceived at a time when the whole world was gripped in fear due to the COVID outbreak. Production on the film would begin later in the year, when much of the U.S. was slowly starting to open back up.

Produced by Hidden Empire Releasing and shooting under the working title of Don't Fear, Fear enjoyed a 17 day shoot in Kyburz, California, the title change coming later in August of 2021. Originally scheduled for a Valentine's Day weekend release in 2022, the film was given a later release for 2023.

Starring Tip "T.I." Harris, Ruby Modine, Joseph Sikora, Annie Ilonzeh, and Iddo Goldberg, Fear opens in theaters today.
